What do you think about this?

On the cover of this week’s New Yorker, Barak Obama and his wife Michelle are portrayed as Islamic fundamentalist enjoying a victorious taking over of America. Editor David Remnick views this as satire. Numerous Obama supporters are angry. What do you think of this recent controversy? Is this simple satire or do you think it is a deliberate attempt to feed into the hysteria and lies being perpetuated by the Republican/Conservative press? Or something else entirely?

Jesse Jackson said he would cut Obama’s balls off if he didn’t stop talking down to black America. Is Obama being constructive to the black community by condemning the issues that affect black people in America or is he being destructive and self-serving by saying the things many think white conservative Americans want to hear?

Drunk Amy Winehouse called Kanye West a cunt during a show in London. Before Jay-Z performed, she asked the crowd, “Are there any black people in the crowd?” She then went on to praise Jay-Z, saying “The man has got bollocks to come here, and play the tunes you don't even know you remember. Imagine if it was a cunt like Kanye West. 'Cunts Like Kanye' - that should be his next album title." Be mindful that just last month a video leaked showing Drunk Amy singing ” Blacks, Pakis, Gooks and Nips. And deaf and dumb and blind and gay!" What do you guys thinks about Amy Winehouse? Are you still willing to support her?

I had no idea that Raz B (of B2K) was alleging that Chris Stokes sexually molested him. The swagger issue of Vibe magazine (Usher cover) did a great article on the allegations. Do you think the allegations against Chris Stokes are true?

The economy is getting worse. June was the cruelest month and according to Tuesday’s New York Times, a rebound is unlikely to happen until late 2009. Unemployment continually rises and housing values continue to fall. Does anyone else think we are all screwed and should be hoarding money?

The economy sucks. Parker and his friends and I and my friends were supposed to go whitewater rafting this weekend, but because of high gas prices and inflation, we are going to just stay in Atlanta and get drunk… Washington Apples for everyone! Um, am I the only person not able to take a vacation this summer?

I'm soooo steering clear of politics. :)

Winehouse: As the Brits would say, "she's mental!"

Economy: Buy lil' sticks of gold or coins. Although admittedly now is a bad time to buy at over $900 an ounce.

Vacation? What vacation? lol. I'll go to one when war is over and I have no more committment.

I think the cover of the New Yorker was just that Satire not everyone will love it but hey it's art.

Jesse Jackson to me is a bit jealous and bitter that Obama got further than him in his presidential election and the fact that Obama didn't want all the bible carrying Reverands like himself supporting him.

I liked Amy Winehouse alot but don't think i would continue to support her.

The Raz B thing is pretty old but i do believe him. Check out the videos on youtube of the conversation between Chris Stokes and Raz B's brother he kinda admits to doing shit to his brother when he was an original member of Immature(LDB replaced him).

Yes I think we should all try holding on to our money a little tighter and you aren't the only one not taking a vacation this summer i will be home in atlanta as well.

About the cover w/Obama and Michelle, yup, so - I don't care.

Jesse Jackson, I think he's truly sorry.

Amy Winehouse - who's that? Yup, that's how I feel about her.

Chris Stokes - yea, he's family.

The Economy - Just keep stacking your cash.

The New Yorker is a liberal publication. These issues were all brought to the forefront during the Democratic Primary by the Clinton campaign. Please do not force blame on those whom have not brought these issues to the forefront.

Okay I get that it might be satire, I get that it was freedom of speech, I also get that this issue was brought up during the nomination campaign...what I want to know is, if the New Yorker, is going to do some equal satire to McCain and his plastic wife? Blaq, you say that the New Torker is a liberal magazine, then why isn't it doing satire against the very conservative McCain, instead of Obama?

I'm so tired of the media thinking the American public is so stupid and dense. First they go after Obama for being a memeber of a christian church for 20 years with strong political views, now he is a muslim, because he's black, with an arabic name. I mean come on people. Does anyone not see, that they are not going at McCain like they have Obama, people are scared, scared that the black man, might really get into office!

Yes, I do think that their is a little jealousy with Jesse, but he needs to get real, he was not a truly serious canadate back in the 80s Obama is now, and you don't see any of the other women who once tried to run for president being jealous over Hillary's attempt.

What I think, in the end of the day Obama is a still black man running for president... he is trying hard to walk on a seasaw, can't favor the blacks to much and alienate the other races, and can't ignore the blacks or he is selling out or talking down to the blacks!

What I don't understand, is how for the New Yorker, is was just satire and freedom of speech, but some much protest about Nas and his album,I here now, they have made him change the cover, from high protest, no longer the whip marks on his back. I hope this isn't true though.

Look I never like Amy Whinehouse from get go. I didn't understand the big hype, because that gal ripped off the black girl groups of the 60s and called it retro..when I know quite a few neo soul artist who have been giving retro quality mmusic for years. I'm so tired of blacks acting like fools over whites stealing the vibe, and then publicly dissing us. This girl didn't deserve her grammys and She sho'nuff isn't getting my respect. Let her tell that smack to the wrong black sista, and she really will be back to black...black and blue!

Now I didn't know he publicly went out and said that Chris Stokes gave him teh one eyed monster, but he has been saying since the group broke up, that he was molested as a child and young teen. I remember hearing him on some gospel radio show, one Sunday, called Brotha CoCoa or something and he was telling his testimony of recovery from years of molestation. However I figured it from jumpstreet that it was Chris Stokes. I have had those thoghts about Chris STokes, since an episode of Cribs, where B@K was the featured celebrities, and they went to each ones home, and Omarion lived with Marques Houston, and one lived with one of the guys from IMX, and one of the light skin ones, not sure if it was RAzB or that other one with the long hair lived with Chris Stokes, and as Chris was talkign about them and the house and livign arrangement, it felt weird years ago. I remember they had a jean couch or soemthing.

Anyway, I'm sure Raz B isn't the only one he has molested, over the years. Someone please tell me, why he has never had a female act, whether solo or a group?
Tell me was it really necessary for him to make them shave their privates and make them wear jeans with no draws when they wear saggin jeans?
Lil' Wayne sags too and the little girls still think he is sexy, and he wears draws!
Somone tell me why he took that picture of Immature, in their tightie whities laying in bed around the age of 14 or so, that has been circling the inernet for years?
I just don't think B2K broke up over money.

The economy is getting worse, hopefully, their will be relief before late 2009. Bush has truly ruined this country, and I think you just will have to be more conservative with your money, and budget a lot more.

You have a lot a stuff on the table here but I'm only going to make a comment on one. I wonder out of all the people who have commented against the the cover of the Obama and Mrs cover, how many have actually read the accompaning article. If they had, they would have seen that the piece was not about Obama and wife, but the beliefs that many have of the two despite the evidence and common sense to the contrary. That's the nature of satire, you say one thing but mean another. Although having said that, I'll admit the execution was piss poor and should have been rethought and redone before it was published.

I do believe to fix a problem, it must be addressed and labeled as a problem. That's what needs to be happening! Put some focus on our weak areas. Hell, even exaggerate them! Whatever it takes to accomplish this change he is aiming for. It seems radical, but few of our prior presidents nave done anything to fix it. Be happy Obama is trying is what I say!

Amy, I think she is an ok singer, but she is really far out there!

Raz-B and Stokes, I don't have a doubt in my mind! It is just not surprising to me.

Why don't we just say we are in a depression? That is what we are heading towards. The well fortunate are still well fortunate while the regular fortunate has become just making it. It just spirals down. It is going to take us a long time to bounce back from this. We need to close our borders again to recuperate! Sorry immigrants, you gots to go!

THANK YOU CURIOUS! You've made my point exactly! That picture was just for shock purposes but the article was actually to defuse the vicious lies that surrounds Mr. Barack (the Savior) Obama. For all the things that I disagree with this man about, I've never gotten caught up in all of these ludicrous statements made about him.

YB&DL, that piece in the New Yorker was NEVER ment to hurt Obama and trust me it didn't. As for the media attacks on John (Dull Ass) McCain, have you tuned into MSNBC, CNN, ABC, CBS lately? Shit, Keith (I'm not partisan) Oberman let's him have relentlessly on a nightly basis!

As for Bush, I can't wait until he's out of office too. Then people will have to find a new scape goat for whatever issues they wish to complain about. *Yawn...*
